Surrey Place Chili Cook-off Success!

Surrey Place Chili Cook-off Success!

It was "chili" yesterday in more ways than one! On October 22, the HOA presented the first Surrey Place neighborhood chili cook off in a beautiful front yard setting on Eaton Place. We had a great turn out including 24 neighbors, 4 delicious chili submissions, and 3 great prizes!

The weather was cool and inviting as neighbors stood chatting about life and Chamblee, with bowls of chili in hand. All the neighbors voted for their favorite, after tasting each option and filling up bowl after bowl with incredible toppings to compliment their chili choice. The lovely night concluded with the well awaited prizes for the top 3 places, including varying donated restaurant gift cards and fresh locally ground coffee beans.

First place went to "Gobble it up Good" by Sarah Deyton, second place went to "Okie Dokie Chilay" by Dan Frazier and third place was given to "Chili Today" by Teresa Bearse, our hostess of the evening. We hope to continue this tradition each fall season, so thank you for all who participated in this inaugural year!

Spring Cookout Success

The 2016 Spring Cookout was a great success!  We were holding our breath because earlier in the day, we had rainy weather.  Fortunately, the storm blew through, the sun came out and we had a nice, cool breeze.  Residents enjoyed burgers, chicken and hot dogs from the grill, along with potato salad, coleslaw, chips, cookies and Key Lime pie...Everyone was hungry as there weren’t many leftovers!  We also had fun with this year’s new addition, a raffle for gift certificates from Chamblee restaurants...The Surrey Place Homeowner’s Association would like the thank Southbound, Zen Tea, Vintage Pizzeria, and Au Rendez-Vous for their generous contributions.

We also want to thank District #1 Councilman, John Mesa, for stopping by to enjoy the festivities.  We look forward to seeing everyone at our next event!
