Chamblee Capital Paving Program
From our Councilman, John Mesa: The City of Chamblee has decided to postpone its 2018 Capital Paving Program. City staff recently became aware of DeKalb County’s award of three major sewer repair projects in the city. The county will be repairing or replacing sewer lines in the Kewsick, Huntley Hills and DECA areas. This information was not available during the original planning for our 2018 road resurfacing projects. Our next step is to meet with county contractors to determine how we can collaborate to accomplish the sewer repairs together. Most importantly, the city is not in any danger of losing funding for road repairs if road resurfacing projects are suspended while the county is handling the sewer repairs, and we will continue to repair potholes, curbs and gutters.
